We Want Your Home Movies, Pittsburgh!

Do you have any old home movies sitting around that you haven’t seen in years?  Have you wondered how to take better care of them?  Drop by Home Movie Day and you’ll be able to share your memories of family vacations, birthday parties, weddings, and any other filmmaking adventure in the company of an audience of local community members.  Home Movie Day is a celebration of amateur films and filmmaking that is held annually worldwide and we want to see your 8mm, Super 8mm, and/or 16mm films Pittsburgh!

Film archivists will be present to give you advice as to how to best care for your films and what you should consider when having them transferred to other media.  We encourage you to drop your films off early during the Film Clinic from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.  At the Film Clinic film archivists will assess your film(s) and make recommendations based on their condition, including whether or not they should be projected.

The film clinic will be followed by a screening of your home movies from 5:00 - 8:00.  For more on home movie day, visit www.homemovieday.com or contact us at homemovieday.pgh@gmail.com.
